Netherlands held a reception for Sevim Ak

A reception was organized for Sevim Ak in the Dutch Palace, on the occasion of Netherlands being invited to the 31st TÜYAP Istanbul Book Fair as the “Guest of Honor”.

After Sevim Ak’s visit to Netherlands in scope of the 400th anniversary of Turkish – Dutch relations, Netherlands was invited as the “Guest of Honor” for the 31st TÜYAP Istanbul Book Fair, and a reception was organized in honor of Sevim Ak. The reception was held at the Dutch Palace by the Dutch Royal Consul General Onno Kervers for the honor of the first children’s novel translated from Turkish to Dutch.

During the Istanbul Book Fair, the Dutch had reserved a special corner for Sevim Ak at their booth in the International Hall. She was nominated for the Andersen Prize, which is considered the Nobel Prize of world children’s literature.
